Spamming Is Dead: Thrive Amidst Google and Yahoo's Email Requirement Changes

Feb 07, 2024 White Paper All White Papers

There’s been lots of noise about Google and Yahoo’s email requirement changes coming through our inboxes this week. I’m here to reassure you that KnowledgeNet.ai users are already in a great position to roll with these changes and continue using email outreach to grow their businesses without concern. Here are four reasons why:

1. Volume.

These requirements apply to senders who are mailing out more than 5000 emails per day to Google and Yahoo users. KnowledgeNet.ai users are already biased towards B2B activity.

2. Authentication.

The first step is all about making sure senders are doing business from legitimate domains. For our clients, that’s a given.

You or your IT point person will have no problem enabling the three authentication mechanisms—Sender Policy Framework (SPF), DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM), Domain-Based Message Authentication Reporting and Conformance (DMARC)—that Google and Yahoo now require for the domains of bulk senders.

All three are set up in your domain’s Domain Name Service (DNS) settings. You can contact your (DNS) provider, check if your web hosting platform provides a tool for uploading and editing DNS records, or you can use a third-party service (e.g. Cloudflare) to handle it for you.

3. Spam rate.

The second requirement focuses on the rate at which your outgoing emails are flagged as spam by recipients. Senders must keep their reported spam rate below 0.10% and “avoid ever reaching 0.30% or higher.” KnowledgeNet.ai users already value quality over quantity when it comes to prospecting, and have the tools like Find Contacts, Connection Paths, AI Content Generation, and Personality Profiles to find ideal targets and create messages that resonate.

4. Unsubscribe.

The third requirement requires senders to support one-click unsubscribe. This is a no-brainer for our users, who have been applying this basic best-practice for years. It also gets used less frequently when you have KnowledgeNet.ai to rely on to support robust list segmentation and targeted content.

KnowledgeNet.ai knows that effective sales outreach is all about being able to leverage relationships, access accurate, real-time information, and pull together the context you need to discover, manage, and close more deals. We’re here for you!
